Day 36: Rice Fields and Coconut Trees

This is a pretty common scene when you travel across the Philippines. It is one of my favorites since rice fields turn golden yellow when they’re ready to harvest. Rice cultivation is one way of generating income among Filipinos specially in rural areas. This is not surprising since rice is our staple food.  At the background you will also see coconut trees. Coconut is considered the tree of life mainly because there are a lot of products derived from its various parts. Farmers usually grow them for the oil they get from its dried meat.

Both of these plants not only make the best landscape photographs but also provide livelihood to our fellow countrymen.
